Body Parts for Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ WG
Fenders, Hood, Door Latches & Gas Struts for Front End, Doors and Liftgate (1999–2004)
Why the Grand Cherokee WJ body needs more than new panels
The Grand Cherokee WJ uses a unibody construction, and after more than twenty years it shows two kinds of wear. Fenders, hood and front end suffer from parking and accident damage, stone chips and rust along edges and seams. More often, though, the mechanics inside the body give up: window regulators lose their cable or motor, door latches with an integrated central-locking actuator stop responding, and the gas struts on the hood, liftgate and separately opening rear glass no longer hold. Getting the right variant matters: window regulators differ before and from March 2000, tail lights come in EU or US style, grille and fog lights fit up to 2003, and side mirrors are available with or without memory.
From the hood to the key blank
- Front end & panels: steel hood and front fenders – both black primed and ready for paint – plus the header panel behind the grille and a chrome grille insert for the front end up to 2003 (not for the Limited).
- Hood & liftgate: hood latch, hood release cable for left-hand drive and hood gas struts, plus liftgate support struts as a pair and dedicated struts for the separately opening rear glass.
- Exterior lighting: headlight for US and Canada Limited models, EU-style tail lights with rear fog light and US tail lights up to 2001, fog lights up to 2003 and bulbs for low beam, high beam and fog lights.
- Doors & windows: door latches with central-locking actuator for front and rear doors and power window regulators with motor, each matched to vehicles built before or from March 2000.
- Mirrors & wipers: power-adjustable, heated side mirrors with or without memory, a rear-view mirror button kit with adhesive, front wiper arms left and right and the rear wiper arm.
- Ignition, keys & pedal: transponder key blanks for the immobilizer, the ignition switch actuator pin for the steering column, coded or re-keyable ignition lock cylinders and the accelerator pedal pad.
Crown for panels and lights, Dorman for doors and windows
Fenders, hood, header panel, lights, mirrors, hood hardware and keys come mostly from Crown Automotive. Window regulators, door latches with central-locking actuator, the rear wiper arm and the re-keyable ignition lock are supplied by Dorman. The gas struts for liftgate and rear glass come from Tuff Support, a coded ignition lock with two keys from Standard Ignition – four brands backed by American parts know-how.
